The following examines the relationship of the definite article with theos in John’s writings. Except for proper names and the pronoun “I”, no words are capitalized since John did not used such a convention. The aim here is to try and get clearer view of John’s thought in Greek with an English speaking mindset. Revelation was not examined since the vocabulary and writing style is significantly different than the Gospel and three Letters of John.
